The Marvelous Makokoba Tour (MMT) is a flagship initiative by Drums of Peace that celebrates the rich history, culture, and talent of the Makokoba community in Bulawayo. Launched in 2018 in collaboration with Hubbard’s Historical Tours, this tour combines music, drumming, dance, and storytelling to offer a unique cultural experience for locals and visitors alike.
MMT is designed to showcase the vibrant arts scene of Makokoba, highlighting traditional drumming, contemporary performances, and the stories of community artists. Visitors and participants explore the township’s heritage while engaging in interactive workshops, live performances, and guided cultural experiences. This immersive approach helps preserve local traditions while inspiring a sense of pride among residents.
